I'm in TEDx!

03:59

I just wrote an entry regarding TEDx couple of months ago but I've actually just finished attended TEDx itself few hours ago. It full of positivity and inspirational day. I'm finally attended a TEDx event by my own! Dream came true!

At the beginning of the day, I was surprised that the event is from 8.30 to 5pm! I just knew that it is a whole day event instead of half day event! And I need to hear 15 talks straight! I was doubting myself whether I can do this? Can I bear all the 15 talks? Because even for lecture also I can't bear sitting in it for 1 hour straight, honestly.

Then, to the auditorium we went for the first talk. The first talk delivered by Prof. Mushtak Al Atabi, about Engineering our Language. Its about we need to reform our everyday language usage into positive word and avoid the negative one. His idea is to change the word 'problem' everytime you want to use it into the word 'opportunity'. And time by time, it shows a very positive result to a company and many of other big names from overseas companies and organisations start to use his idea. I wonder whether he charged them for a copyright or not..hee. And for the next talks, every speaker who going to use the word 'problem' they changed it into 'opportunity' and it help to give a whole positive aura to their talk too.

And the inspirational talks goes on. I still surprised that I survived all the 15 talks! It means it was delivered succesfully. Hee. If you want to watch the whole session, you can search TEDxUPM on Youtube, they will upload the whole session soon.

Besides that, in between the talks there is an opportunity for the audience to come up on stage and deliver a one minute speech. I applied for that session! but unfortunately not my rezeki to be up on stage to talk. The organiser said that the slot is already full. Next time I'll try again. There was one audience, deliver about questions that only 10% of the world population know the answer. There are 10 questions, and I just could remember two of them, which are

'Where was the first alphabet is written,.?'

'Where was the first story is written..?'

And the answer is Iraq. And the speaker is also from Iraq. He stood up for his country to tell people about his country that many people misunderstood for. I can feel his sincerity from the talk and it is so courageous of him to do that.

The TEDx event uphold the theme of 'Breaking Barriers' and I tried to break barriers of myself to make new friends. And I am really happy to have new friends instead of friend. Hee. Getting know each other, talk, exchange ideas, but the time is actually quite packed with the talks so we can't have much time to exchanging informations for future connection.. but I hope I can at least remember their faces. And I befriended with a sweet girl who is actually a Master student pursuing her studies in eletrical engineering course. She look so young! I misunderstood her being an undergrad student!

So, in life, have a list of what you want to do or what you want to have, so our life will be more meaningful for us to live in when we have something to achieve. Just pursue your dream.

Alhamdulillah for the opportunity He gave me.
