The Aidilfitri Mission 2018

22:50

I arrived in Sungai Petani on 29th Ramadhan, just less than 24 hours before the eid's takbir. It has become an usual moment for me now to be able to come home only a day before raya which I was once feel quite awkward,  like 'Am I that adult?' Balik Raya pun dah tak boleh awal, huhu.

But this year, I came home for Raya with missions. I want to help for my sister's wedding prep, and want to create more bonding with my relatives. But, before I came back, I actually received a miracle of help in changing my practical place in a very short notice from Selangor Turf Club to Equine Unit, UVH due to the wedding's date. I was so shocked, yet so thankful to Him, lecturer and friends that makes my Raya this year a meaningful one.

First Raya, spending the whole day until evening visiting the families and relatives and mom's friends. Eating at each house with just appropriate amount so that I can enjoy more range of food and biskut raya!. Totally off-phone day. Second Raya, starting my first mission, I got no other plan than to wash and clean the wet kitchen or the second kitchen of my house before the wedding. Washing it took some time yet more energy which my mom alone cannot do it. I want it to be cleaner than before so our relatives can use it more conveniently.

Then, I thought, 'why not I basuh longkang rumah skali, cukup pakej, haha' I went out, grab the tools and scrape the drain till the water turned clear. Wallaa!

Third Raya, is the day for all my cousins and aunties came to my house to prep the goodies bag and 'bunga telur' for the wedding together. Here come for my second mission. I want to have more chit chat with my cousins starting from now as I am having less of it before due to our age difference, but now since I'm quite big now maybe I should start fit in. We prep the 800+ goodies bag together, chit chat at the kitchen and so on, I was happy when we could chit chat for more than 3 minutes as I never done that before by my own! usually my elder sister would always do the talking! And I was able to make and serve drinks for larger crowd by my own! usually mom would always prep the drinks.

Fourth Raya, is the day for my second elder sister, her wedding day. There was a hectic situations at the beginning I am proud of myself I could help. Then, I was responsible to give out the goodies bag to relatives and guests. I need to make sure especially all our relatives received the 'special' goodies bag. Of course at the same time I must brush up my chit-chat-with-makcik2 skill!

Fifth Raya, I packed my stuffs and headed back to Selangor for my practical. I was stuck in jam for almost 11 hours! This never happen before. Arrived in college around 3.30 am and my practical going to start at 8 am. Managed to steal some 2 hours and half sleep before woke up at 6.30 am and prep for practical.

My practical goes on. And today, tenth Raya, I am so happy to be able to attend some open houses. At first I was so scared to attend one because today actually need to standby for any on call cases, pray hard for non. With some confidence I just go out and hit the road. First house was at Faem's, and I am so glad that we share some life stories, the unexpected one, haha, will wait for the progress! Then, alang-alang my classmates also came at faem's house, we decided to extend the journey to our lecturer's open house! Enjoyed the laughter and some small talk shared since they are my 'killer' subject lecturer, manage to chit chat with them is an achievement for myself!

I guess all my mission and wishes for Aidilfitri this year is ticked off, hopefully for Ramadhan too. Having Ramadhan during final exam season felt too fast thus I was struggling to create a balance between both. Pray for all our good deeds during Ramadhan being accepted by Him.

Basically my Raya this year nak jadi Budak besar skit!

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin, and thank you for reading my blog for all these while :)
