Looks and Appearance of a Woman.. Does it matter? My insight.

Assalamualaikum dun-ya~
Alhamdulillah its already 6th of Syawal. Let's start our 6days of fasting for the bonus of Akhirat prepared by Him especially for us. Fasting for 6days in Syawal will bring us to pahala of fasting as equal as fasting the one whole year for 365days! Subhanallah. Grab the opportunity!
Ehem. *betulkan spek.
Well, I really think a lot of time before writing this entry. Whether it is appropriate or not. Whether it is beneficial or not. I do hope it does!
After a year of study in Vet school, I'm going through an 8 weeks of practicals.. bayangkan berapa lama je cuti sem yang tinggal. Honestly, fadh cuti 11 hari je daripada 3 bulan cuti sem yang ada. The rest of the holiday, is fully booked for practical and some other matters, huh, be strong!
When you are in practical phase, people will treat you as 'worker' which is as someone who work with them. They expect you to work like them more than learning like a student. Thus, you need to highly aware and quickly grab the basic about the job scope, for example in vet practical, need to know how to do physical examination on the patient, clean the patient's wound, prepare medication and more. The staffs do not have much time to teach and train you couple of time over the same thing. Once they taught you, quickly grasp the basic and start doing your work. Then, you can learn while you're doing your job. Don't afraid to ask with smile :)
So, one of the important aspect in 'working' and when I enter the career world, is my appearance. I started to think about this when I'm going through my practicals term. Well, finally nur fadhilah is thinking about her appearance! ;P Every morning, wake up as early as 5.30(paling lambat) so I can get ready of everything(air tanah untuk sertu, baju lebih untuk solat Zohor, telekung kena bersih, etc) smoothly and wouldn't be late for 'work'. Finished my work at 5/6pm and walk back to hostel to clean myself for my next Asar prayer. After Isyak, I already fallen asleep if my day was very tiring sometime tak de la penat sangat, but ada certain day yang akan penat sangat sangat. And the next day, ulang the same routine. Thus, I end up with caring less about my appearance, wear the same tudung untuk keluar makan which is the one that is not used for work, care less untuk gosok baju, tak kisah kalau tudung tak jadi betul2, huhu something like that, yada yada.
But, I felt guilty for neglecting myself appearance. Reason? Because I am too tired to think about it. Lazy to think of what to wear, What colour to match with this and that, etc. Honestly, and gradually, I started to feel less confident. Its not because I'm not beautiful(memang biasa2 ja), but because I realise I've neglected myself and causing me to start looking pale and worst, I'm not feeling good. Starting to become emotional damsel. Tsk tsk tsk.
Thinking of the root of the problem, I found that, nur fadhilah is actually getting lazy.
Then, I started by getting rid of my 'malas-ness' and take care of myself BACK. I used to take care of myself appearance, its just bila masuk fasa praktikal, jadi kurang rajin and I don't want that habit to continue bila dah start kerja nanti.
Beautiful and looking good is two different thing. You don't have to be beautiful to look good and looking good is enough to lift up your confidence. When you're confident, you will always perform at your best without worrying of anything.
I'm telling this, because I realized that Malaysian teenagers especially, is working hard to make-themselves-beautiful, consuming various range of pills, whitening cream, whitening serum, glutacaps drinks, and more. Everytime I read those products' advertisement of Facebook and blogs it cause me goosebumps instead of eagerness to try. A lot of questions and anxiety rose. Are those product safe? Does it have any long term effects? Any complication? Does it come from original resource? What are the chemicals used? Maybe you would say that I'm paranoid, but what matter is our health and well-being in future. Please check and investigate the product background before making any purchase, when it is really safe, the power is in your hand to make the decision.
As for me, simple and sopan apparel, tudung bawal yang menjadi(hope you understand what I'm trying to say! >_<), some face powder and lip balm just to avoid myself from looking pale, enough to start my day. If you prefer some touch up of colours and pandai lilit shawl dengan kemas and you're also good to go! Fadh tak reti pakai shawl, huhu. Let yourself look good and thus you will feel good and confident to take over the world. Remember, less is more. No need to impress people with your beauty, because beauty is temporary, I encourage women to impress people with our brilliant brain and diligence. And balance between our duniawi and ukhrawi. I'm reminding myself too.
Looks and appearance does really matter for us,women. However in Islam, modesty is always the best.
Be true,
Do not neglect yourself, and
Seek love from Allah and love of others will eventually seek for you.
